Every Sunday, our goal as the Creative and Media Team is to help create a frictionless, distraction-free service.
The role of someone serving in church creative and tech is that of a servant. It is not always the most visible or flashy role. Often, a smooth Sunday will not prompt any thanks or special recognition. In many cases, when no one notices what you are doing, that is when you know things are working well.
This applies to every area of the team, including Camera Operators creating smooth transitions on the livestream and highlighting important moments, the Live Sound Operator creating clear and balanced sound, the Lighting Operator supporting the atmosphere of the service, and every other person serving behind the scenes.​​​​

The goal of the Camera Operator is to communicate with the team through the Eartec headsets, then pan, zoom, and frame each shot as directed. After the Livestream Operator gives a countdown, they will switch to your camera.
Camera Operators should stay alert, listen carefully, and avoid making sudden movements while their camera is live.

The Livestream Operator is responsible for starting the livestream with the pre-service video five to ten minutes before the service begins. They will then take the stream live and communicate with the Camera Operators to direct where each camera should be positioned.
Camera feeds are switched using the Blackmagic ATEM switcher software. A TV mounted above the workstation provides a live multiview of each camera, allowing the Livestream Operator to monitor and select the best shot.

The Lighting Operator is responsible for creating a distraction-free atmosphere that invites worship and helps engage the audience.
Lights are controlled through Lightkey software and physical light switches. The Lighting Operator should understand which lights are needed for each part of the service, including:

• Pre-service
• Worship
• Sermon
• Videos
• Baptisms

The Lighting Operator should make smooth changes at the appropriate times and avoid lighting adjustments that may distract from the service.

The ProPresenter Operator is responsible for all slides and media shown during the service. This role requires collaboration with the Worship Team during practice to prepare songs, follow the service order, and correct any lyric errors.
The ProPresenter Operator also works with the Creative Team to prepare and display videos, event slides, announcements, and other media used throughout the service.

The Live Sound Operator works directly with the Worship Team to create a clear and balanced sound for the service.
This role is supervised by Worship Leader Justin Waddle, who oversees training on the Allen & Heath SQ-7 soundboard and its companion iPad app. The Live Sound Operator should communicate closely with the Worship Team during practice and throughout the service.
The Live Sound Operator is responsible for mixing the Worship Team, the pastor’s message, and any other microphones used during the service.
They are also responsible for the audio of any videos or other media played during the service. They should communicate with the ProPresenter Operator about what media will be played and when it will begin so the necessary audio adjustments can be made.
They must also make sure pre-service and post-service music from Spotify is playing in the sanctuary.

The Photographer/Videographer is responsible for capturing and documenting important moments throughout the service. In this role, you have the opportunity to serve as a real-time historian by preserving moments that tell the story of what God is doing at Crosspointe.
From worship and baptisms to portraits and candid interactions, the content you capture is an important resource for the Creative Team. Photos and videos may be used for event flyers, social media, promotional content, and B-roll for future video projects.
